On April 12th, Jiangsu Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yancheng Municipal People’s Governmen, and the Jiangsu Coast Development Group jointly held the signing event of the framework agreement for the cooperation and co-construction of the Yellow Sea Laboratory for Blue Seed Industry. Zhou Bin, Party Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Party Committee, and Ji Hui, Director of Jiangsu Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the event. Chen Songlin, the Chief Scientist in the field of biotechnology at the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech. Xu Feng, Chairman of the Jiangsu Coast Development Group, Zhou Jinyang, General Manager of the group, and others participated in the event. Wu Wei, Deputy Party Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Party Committee, presided over the event.
The seed industry is the foundation for the development of modern agriculture and fisheries. The three parties’ cooperation in establishing the Yellow Sea Laboratory for Blue Seed Industry aims to strengthen the industry-university-research cooperation among government departments, scientific research institutions, and enterprises, attract and cultivate high-level scientific research teams, take the lead and play a major role in tackling key scientific and technological problems in key varieties and core technologies, and accelerate the construction of a breakthrough, leading, and platform-based integrated scientific and technological innovation center for the fishery industry, so as to help the fishery industry of the whole province be in the forefront and be an example.
